How to use a Biomat Step by Step

Between pain relief, improved sleep, and better overall health, Biomats are becoming increasingly popular as word spreads about their benefits. This guide will walk you through setting up and how to use a Biomat. Before you know it, you'll use your Biomat for relaxation, pain relief, and maybe even exercising! Let's dive in.

How does the Biomat work?

The Biomat uses amethyst crystals for healing  and far infrared rays to work through your mind, body, and spirit and accelerate healing at the cellular level.

Far infrared rays occur throughout nature, and their frequencies increase circulation, blood flow, and oxygen flow through the body. They also help to reduce inflammation, ease joint pain, and increase wakefulness.

When you lay down on an activated Biomat, your cells release their energy blockages, tension melts away, and you'll experience comfortable warmth throughout your body. You might consider using your Biomat to:

  • Relax after a long day at work
  • Relieve pain in localized areas (such as the lower back)
  • Improve sleep quality at night
  • Soothe sore muscles after a workout or injury

How do I set up my Biomat?

The first step in learning how to use a Biomat is setting it up in your bedroom, living room, home office, or wherever you plan on using it the most. Once you have your Biomat, setting it up and getting started is easy.

  1. Ideally, you would place your Biomat on a dedicated piece of furniture—like a massage table, or a lounge chair. However, you can place it on any flat surface, including yoga mats, beds, or even directly on the floor. You may also choose to drape the Biomat over or across any part of your body and lie beneath it.
  2. Turn on the controller.
  3. Adjust the temperature setting. It's generally recommended to start with the lowest heat setting and work your way up to a comfortable level.
  4. Set the Timer function. It's generally recommended to start with shorter durations like one hour and work your way up.

Don't put any heavy objects on top of your mat. Things like furniture create pressure that can cause tearing, cracking, and indentations to their surfaces over time.

How to use your new Biomat

For laying down/relaxing

The Biomat is your perfect companion for watching TV, reading a book before bed, or lying down for 10 minutes of meditation. To start, unroll your mat, heat it up, and get comfy!

For relieving pain in localized areas

Pain relief is one of Biomat's primary uses. If you have localized pain from arthritis, for example, using a Biomat can relieve the pain significantly. Applying heat therapy directly onto the affected area increases blood flow, bringing nutrients and oxygen into that area.

The Biobelt is excellent for addressing localized pain. It's smaller and more compact than the traditional Biomat, making it an effective treatment for localized pain relief. We recommend using the Biobelt to:

  • Aid digestion in the abdominal area
  • Relieve joint pain
  • Improve tissue repair

For getting a good night's sleep

The Biomat provides a dry, comfortable resting surface for sleeping and relaxing. If you're looking for a product to support your sleep, here are a few ways the Biomat could help:

  • For an afternoon nap: Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the mat.
  • Preparing for bed: Lie on your side with one leg stretched across the mat while keeping both arms close to your body and using a pillow between your knees if desired (this position can help improve circulation).
  • Sleeping on your stomach: Place another pillow underneath the lower back for support, or use only one pillow if desired. If this feels good, try placing a small rolled-up towel under each knee or thigh. Some people with chronic pain find this position helpful since it provides more support than lying flat on the stomach.

For subtle exercises

The Biomat is the perfect accessory for doing gentle exercises that connect you to your breath, lengthen and stretch your muscles, and bring unity to your mind, body, and spirit. If you practice yoga, tai chi, or qi gong, give the Biomat a go!

For meditation and intention setting

Meditation is the act of focusing on one thing for an extended period to clear your mind. You might focus on breathing, your own heartbeat, or even counting backward from 100 by 7s (that's Zen!).

Intention setting is similar to meditation but tends toward an outward focus. Instead of clearing your mind, intention setting helps clarify what you want out of life and what steps need to be taken to get there. When done correctly, this practice can make achieving goals much easier!

Because of the way it connects you to your body, melts away stress, and relieves pain and anxiety, the Biomat makes an awesome tool for both meditating and setting intentions.
